Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Early detection is key! Cancer screenings can help find cancer early and give you a better chance to successfully treat cancer. For me personally, regular cancer screenings are a HUGE part of my life. I am BRCA1+ so I rely on regular screenings to help me stay healthy and also gives me peace of mind. I know that if I keep up with screenings, I am much more likely to catch it early, which increases my chances of beating it.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
Do not put off screenings! I know sometimes we feel like we don’t need to go, it can create anxiety because you aren’t sure of what results you will get, or for whatever other reason it gets pushed off. Cancer symptoms do not usually develop until the cancer is at a more advanced stage which can decrease chances for survival. Talk to your doctors, make appointments for screenings and if you are feeling anxious about going – find a trusted friend to bring with you.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
The work we do at eHealth Technologies takes the stress of collecting records/images/slides off of the patients. When facing a cancer diagnosis there are so many things patients have on their mind. Taking the responsibility of record collection off of their plate can make a huge difference for them. We have also helped patients get appointments sooner and when facing a cancer diagnosis – time is of the essence.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
I am a kidney cancer survivor since 2004. If they had not found it when they did, I would not be here today. I have lost so many friends and family to cancer that may have been treatable if they had just had the screening available to them. I believe that we should all listen to our bodies and if we feel something is wrong – push to get the screening and testing needed. I feel that insurance companies play too big of a role in saying who can have what test done when. It should be up to our doctor to decide if we need a screening and when. Young people die every day that don’t get screening and testing and this needs to change.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
Get your screening and do them every year. Just because you feel good does not mean that there is not something going on in your body that you just don’t feel yet. Take the time to get all screenings offered to you. We are all busy, but taking that time to be screened could save your life and make sure you get treatment started early. It is scary. I know that I am scared every year when I have my screening until my results come back, but I want to see my granddaughters grow up. Hearing the word CANCER is scary, but knowing early is our best way to beat this awful disease.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
I work as hard as possible for our clients. I take each case personally, and I treat it as if they were my family member. I always try to go above what is asked of me to get what information we need. If I need to call 3 or 4 different numbers or need to search to find a number that someone will answer and not just leave voicemail – then I hunt and call until I get someone to answer the phone. I try to think what if someone had not fought hard for me to get my information to my doctor – would I be here today?

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
My father has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and is currently going through treatment.
My aunt has battled Breast Cancer.
My brother-in-law has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and is currently going through treatment.
I know several people that do not take advantage of tests that can be done to screen for cancer, and I think we need to be able to do more to educate people.
There should be more tests that can be performed to check for other types of cancer.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
There are no excuses for not taking advantage of critical cancer screenings. My husband recently convinced one of his friends to have his colonoscopy at the age of 55 and a mass was found. Fortunately, it was caught in time and was able to be removed, but the doctor said if he waited any longer, the situation would have been different.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
My work is centered around building an application to help streamline the workflow in operations that involves obtaining medical records, images and/or pathology material for patients in need of cancer treatment. If I am able to help build an application that will make this process more efficient, it will result in information being available to clients quicker.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Coming out of the pandemic, many people have put off screenings due to a lack of comfort in visiting the health care facilities. During this time, I had one family member with two very small children be diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She is undergoing aggressive treatment and is looking for a clinical trial which is not only taking a toll on her physically but also on her children emotionally as they grow up and just try to be kids. I also lost my stepfather late last year to prostate cancer. While it was treatable, he lacked the knowledge and desire for treatment. His passing left a huge hole in our family.
I am hoping that with this initiative we can catch these aggressive forms of cancer earlier to limit the amount of grief families have to go through.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
I have been working in Health care IT for over 25 years. Since joining eHealth Technologies, I have never felt closer to the patient or felt like what I was doing was really making as big difference to the patient. Giving facilities the records, images, and pathology material in a matter of days allows patients to get in the door and begin treatment far sooner than they could in a world without eHealth Technologies.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Screenings for any medical condition create awareness and in the case of cancer screenings – it might just save your life. Early-stage detection gives a patient more alternatives for treatment. If cancer is caught later patients sometimes have few options.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
Now is the TIME! Many people might put off these screenings due to the pandemic and other reasons. Cancer screenings ARE available so don’t delay scheduling an appointment ASAP. There are many options and assistance to get screened TODAY! Don’t put it off!
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
eHealth Technologies provides a unique and comprehensive methodology to retrieve patient information for the provider prior to a patient’s first appointment. Our services improve the quality, processes, and patient experience for those that have had cancer screenings and are following critical next steps of treatment. We impact patient care on a day-to-day basis from the gathering of information from that first cancer screening to making sure clinical teams have what is needed to develop a treatment plan. Glad to be part of such a wonderful team that impacts patients’ awareness and care!

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Cancer has affected my family in many ways. I know the importance of screening early and catching different types of cancer as quickly as possible.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
I encourage everyone to get frequent screenings for cancer. Especially when it comes to critical cancer screenings, I would like to see this be something readily and easily available to those who need it.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
I help to ensure that my clients are leveraging all of the benefits and capabilities of the eHealth Technologies platform as efficiently as possible. They rely on our team to provide their clinical teams with the records and images that are vital to review for relevant treatment of specified cancers. If we don’t perform our job as quickly and accurately as possible, there is a chance we delay patient care or push it out. When you are talking critical types of cancers and early treatment to reduce the impact – we play a significant role in allowing our clients the ability to treat their patients properly, with the right clinical knowledge and history to make informed decision of care.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Cancer screenings provide an opportunity to catch the disease early when the success rate of treatment is much higher. I think it is important for us to drive awareness of the positive impact cancer screenings have created for so many people.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
Knowledge is power. While the idea of waiting for results can be scary, once you know what you are dealing with, you are able to address it head on. Take care of yourself for those that you love and love you. Identifying any cause for concern early on provides a much better opportunity to develop a plan to address the concerns and reduce or eliminate any additional future cause for concern.
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
Our clients’ primary objective is to provide treatment for patients as quickly and effectively as possible. Because of the partnership our clients have with eHealth Technologies, they are able to obtain the necessary information to assess a patient more quickly and use the information to assist in the process of assessing the patient and prescribing a treatment plan more quickly.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
Cancer screening saved my mother’s life. A lump was found on a screening mammogram. She had a mastectomy. That was 11 years ago, she has been cancer free ever since. Unfortunately, I also have two uncles who did not get their yearly colonoscopies and died from colon cancer.
What is your message to those that are in need of critical cancer screenings?
Cancer screening does save lives, the choice is yours…
How does your work at eHealth Technologies impact our clients and their patients?
At eHealth Technologies we are able to obtain critical cancer screening results so that providers are able to assess results for treatment planning or see where important screenings might be missing.

Why is supporting cancer screening awareness important to you?
As a cancer survivor I am lucky that my cancer was caught early. I have also had many friends, family, and colleagues that have suffered and died from this dreadful disease. Anything we can do to catch it early is critical to having a fighting chance for longer term survival.

Treat screenings as a top priority. It is a small commitment of time for something that can prove to be the difference between life and death. If not for yourself, do it for those who depend on you.
