Quality Health Network and eHealth Technologies Join Forces to Deliver Image Exchange Services for Western Colorado

Aspen Valley Hospital is the first Quality Health Network HIE participant to go live with eHealth Connect® Image Exchange

Grand Junction, CO, July 21, 2015 – Quality Health Network® (QHN), the Health Information Exchange (HIE) providing secure exchange of electronic health information for clinical quality improvement purposes in western Colorado, and eHealth Technologies™ the leading provider of referral solutions incorporating image exchange solutions, announced today they have successfully enabled Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH) to share diagnostic quality medical images with healthcare providers across western Colorado.

QHN has contracted with eHealth Technologies to enhance QHN’s services to participating healthcare providers.  eHealth Technologies’ image sharing services enables QHN Participants to access and view their patients’ images plus establish online and real time consults between physicians.  The images from AVH may be accessed by using a “secure link” imbedded in records within QHN’s patient record or by accessing records with the “secure link” delivered by QHN to the Participant’s EHR.

“AVH is delighted to be at the table with QHN as partners to link technology with patient care coordination,” stated Elaine Gerson, Chief Clinical Officer at AVH.  “The ability to link a patient’s radiology image and real time cine to the patient’s virtual record allows the physician provider to not only review the report read by the radiologist, but see the actual images as well.  This will provide enhanced communication between the physician provider and the patient and ultimately will lead to improved quality care.      We say that AVH is ‘small enough to care, large enough to heal.’  Technology such as this is an example of how we live by this motto.”

“QHN is pleased to partner with AVH as they lead the way with community-wide image exchange technology in western Colorado. Implementation of these technologies helps improve patient safety and patient care, and can lower costs for all. This effort to make it easier for QHN subscribers to access critical patient information is yet another example of  QHN’s commitment to efficiently and securely deliver information – how, when, and where it is needed,” said Dick Thompson, Executive Director at QHN. “In addition to the many clinical benefits eHealth Connect® Image Exchange deliver, it also helps to reduce the cost of care by eliminating the need for generating, transporting, and importing medical images and duplicating imaging studies. We are excited to also offer our subscribers the ability to not only be able to view their patients’ medical images from any connected facility in full diagnostic quality; they are also able to collaborate with multiple clinicians using the real-time common image viewing feature.”

“eHealth Technologies is thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with QHN to meet the unique medical imaging-related needs that exist in western Colorado,” stated Gary Larson, Executive Vice President & General Manager. “Since we have connected over 100 hospitals and imaging centers across the country, we have the expertise to support a wide variety of unique workflows for each community, region or state.”
